This year, we are placing an emphasis on regular and substantive interaction for our flex series. Each session will start with an overview of regular and substantive interaction, and then go into a deep dive to breakdown each part the requirements. Join us:
Tuesday August 27th from 2-3PM: Regular
Tuesday September 24th from 2-3PM: Substantive
Tuesday October 22nd from 2-3PM: Interaction
Accessibility Training
There are 2 ongoing Accessibility Training opportunities available for you:
Self-enroll in the CCC-10 Day Accessibility Challenge. This course focuses on creating accessible content in Canvas, using Canvas tools. It is designed to go through it in 10 consecutive business days, though you can do it faster or slower as needed. Upon completion of the course, you are re-enrolled in a read only mode so you can keep access to the content.
Register for the WebAIM Accessible Document Training. This is a 4-week course that starts the first Monday of each month, though you can enroll late if you complete it within 60 days. This course covers creating accessible external documents: Word, PPT, and PDF.
This semester, you can also join me to “Tidy Up and Scan” your course. This is a one-hour session that will go over how to use Tidy Up in Canvas to remove unused content, and then how to check the accessibility of your course with the Pope Tech Instructor Dashboard. Each session is the same: 8/27, 9/10, 9/24, and 10/8 from 11AM-12PM.
