The OneSearch catalog is the tool to use to start a search for physical books in the library as well as eBooks. When using the catalog, use the same keyword- or subject-based search techniques demonstrated on the "Databases" page of this guide. The catalog also has an advanced search area, so that you can search for terms in specific fields like titles or subjects. The catalog can be used on or off-campus, and there is no sign in required; however, all students do have an online account so that they may request items, renew them, and create personal lists of resources. Just sign in using the same credentials that you use to log in to Canvas.
Take advantage of our Library-To-Go service to request books in print from any State Center library (Reedley, Fresno, and Madera) for fast, easy pick up on campus during open hours. We'll pull the books from the shelves, and then we'll let you know when you can visit the library to check them out at the desk.
For more tutorials on how to search the catalog, visit the library's OneSearch research guide.
The library has thousands of eBooks for you to read anywhere they have Internet access. The majority of the eBooks available don't need to be checked out and have no due dates; just click and read! If you are off-campus, sign in with your SCCCD credentials to read an eBook.
While some eBooks give readers the option of downloading and printing a limited number of pages, all provide a link to simply read the book in your browser anywhere you have Internet access. EBooks have searching capabilities, too; use the provider's "search" tool to quickly locate a word or phrase within the book. Aside from an index, that's something you can't easily do with a print book!
While the catalog is the best way to search our eBook collections, you may wish to use any of the following eBook databases to start a search of these convenient resources. Note that searching for eBooks and eAudiobooks on Libby with OneSearch is not available at this time.
