How to Use the Clovis Community College Library: Books

Check Out Books and More

There are thousands of items available for check out at the library, and many more available through our borrowing agreements with the other SCCCD colleges. To check out items from the general collection, you only need to know your student ID number: no physical card is required to check out books and most other items. You can have out up to 10 items total, and with no more than 5 DVDs.

Fine Free & Six Week Loans

The library does not charge overdue fees for items returned late from our general collection. Only the following will be assessed fees:

  • lost or missing items that are not returned
  • items returned damaged
  • items from other libraries including other SCCCD libraries.

Books, CD audiobooks, and DVDs have a six week loan period with renewal options.

Books

Check out books from us as well as from other State Center libraries; Fresno City, Reedley, and Madera. If you are unable to find a specific item at our libraries, email us for possible Interlibrary Loan options.

  • Checkout: 6 weeks
  • Renewals: 3 additional weeks
EBooks

Most eBooks can be read at any time, anywhere that you have Internet access. No downloads or checkouts are required, unless they are loans from our Libby collection. Search for eBooks using the library's database page or the OneSearch Library Catalog.

CD Audiobooks
  • Checkout: 6 weeks
  • Renewal: 3 weeks
DVDs
  • Checkout: 6 weeks
  • Renewal: 3 weeks

Use our library catalog to search for books, eBooks, articles from our databases and Open Access resources (free on the web), textbooks, and more. You can even search all State Center libraries.






Online Books

When accessing eBook collections from off-campus, you will be asked to log in and enter your student ID number for your username and your Canvas/email password.
